Steven Seagal Appointed Deputy Of Sheriff in Texas. The criminals who are in Texas should be more careful, because the Hollywood tough guy, Steven Seagal, has got a new job as a deputy sheriff in a border town in Texas.

After a career in law enforcement in the movie (although it sometimes gets a role as a villain) Seagal is now a law enforcement in the real world.

Under Siege movie actor 59-year-old was sworn in as Deputy Sheriff in this week, to patrol the Hudspeth County, which lies along the Rio Grande east of El Paso.

After Seagal expressed interest in joining the Hudspeth County, two members of the Department visited her to Los Angeles, in order to discuss about the actor's proposal, and to ensure that Seagal was really serious. Said Rusty Fleming, a spokeswoman for the sheriff.

"We immediately know that he is not doing this for publicity. He wants to come to the border to do its job." said Fleming.

Hudspeth County, with a population of 3,400 inhabitants, are at the forefront on border issues ranging from illegal immigration to the hordes of drugs.

"He understood the problems we have on this border. He helped provide training to assist the Deputy here, and I think he will make a tremendous contribution." Added Fleming.

Meanwhile, the Sheriff of the West said that he hoped to report for duty immediately Seagal in January.
