The gold itself is worth more than 50 million Australian dollars.
The giant coin is a magnificent Australian icon symbolising one of the Mint's most extraordinary accomplishments in its 112 year history.
It measures nearly 80 centimetres wide and over 12 centimetres thick.
At one tonne (1,000 kg), it's the biggest, heaviest, inherently most valuable gold bullion coin in the world.
It has Australian legal tender status.

The Jakarta Tower is a partly built tower in Jakarta, Indonesia. When completed it will be 558 metres (1,831 ft) tall up to the antenna.
It would be the tallest freestanding tower in the Southern Hemisphere.
Located in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, work started in 1997, but was halted by the Asian economic crisis.

A skyscraper under construction in Southwark, London, it will be the tallest building in the European Union when completed in 2012.
It will also be the second tallest free-standing structure in the United Kingdom.
Shanghai Tower - China
The Shanghai Tower designed by Gensler, will be the tallest of a group of three supertall buildings in Pudong, the other two being the Jin Mao Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center.
It is expected to be completed in 2014. When completed it wil rise to a height of 632 metres (2,073 ft) with 128 stories spread and a total floor area of 380,000 m2 (4,090,000 sq ft).
It will be the tallest building in China and the second-tallest in the world.
Taipei 101 - Taiwan
Taipei 101 was the world's tallest building from 2004 until the opening of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai in 2010.
In July 2011, the building was awarded LEED Platinum certification, the highest award in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system to become the tallest green building in the world.
